发展如飞的城市系列，第一集说中国上海。 　　象征中国繁荣的特大都市上海，不断进行着大规模的再开发。有人被浪潮作弄，亦有人在此寄托未来的梦想。 　　其中一人是业余摄影师徐先生。文革后30多年来，他用照相机记录下了急剧变化的上海街头。名称面貌全然异于往昔的马路上，只留下一颗老树……他一面将思绪放飞于往昔的上海，一面不断按下快门。 　　另一人则是同济大学客座教授束先生。他认为，随着人口不断流入，上海只得向地下寻求生存的空间。在地下开发出广大的空间，以人工灯光照明，植树，放鸟，若能建设这样的环境，也许能供很多人生存。 　　徐先生见证了上海的发展，而他自己也被推上风口浪尖。长年居住的公寓由于城市规划或遭拆迁，他不得不另寻它所。为寻新居他在房价不断攀升的上海东奔西走，好在运气不错，幸而重得一家团聚。
